DAVID K. LAURITZEN received his law degree (cum laude) from Brigham Young University in 1977, and his Masters in Taxation degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1978. His areas of practice include Estate Planning, Probate, Tax, Employee Benefits, Retirement Planning, and Elder Law.

Mr. Lauritzen is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Lauritzen has been certified as an "Accredited Estate Planner" by the National Association of Estate Planers and has been certified by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys as a "Certified Elder Law Attorney." Mr. Lauritzen is a past Chairman of the Estate Planning Section of the Utah State Bar. He has been the Utah State Chairman of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 1990. Mr. Lauritzen is also a past President of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council, an interdisciplinary organization of lawyers, CPAs, Trust Officers and CLUs. He was an officer or director of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council for 9 years. Mr. Lauritzen is also a member of the Western States Pension and Benefits Conference, the Utah State Bar's Needs of the Elderly Committee and Utah State Bar Tax Section.

Mr. Lauritzen has been a speaker and panelist in several forums on estate planning, tax and retirement issues, including, the Fall Institute of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Western States Pension and Benefits Conference, the Utah State Bar Estate Planning Section, the Utah State Bar Tax Section, the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council, the 8-state Regional Meeting of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the 8-state Regional Meeting of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Utah Health Care Association, the BYU State and Local Government Conference, the UACPA's Annual Tax Symposium, the Mid-Year Meeting of the Utah State Bar and the Utah Gerontology Society's Annual Symposium.

Mr. Lauritzen was a member of the Utah Medical Association's Blue Ribbon Committee dealing with legal/medical issues including the prolongation of life through heroic medical measures. He was directly involved in the drafting and enactment of the Utah Personal Choice and Living Will Act. Mr. Lauritzen is a member of the University of Utah Health Sciences Planned Giving Committee. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Utah Alzheimer's Association and has donated time to Primary Children's Hospital Planned Giving Committee, the Utah Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, the Utah Gerontology Society, the Utah Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Bountiful High School Community Council.

LESLIE WATKINS has over twenty years experience in the legal field. She certified as a paralegal from Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1981 when certification was not required. She attended Brigham Young University majoring in psychology for two years. She has worked for several large law firms as a paralegal in the Salt Lake area doing research and meeting with clients. For the last nine (9) years, she has worked specifically in estate planning, asset protection, probate, entity formations and most specifically, family and estate related mediation. She has been involved in the Davis and Weber Counties Chamber of Commerce and Davis County Women in Business. She is a 2003 graduate from the University of Utah's Conflict Resolution Certification Program. She is the mother of four children.
